Last weekend I went to the Brussels Food Festival in Auderghem hosted at the Rouge Cloître. Many food trucks were present but the event had a sustainable touch which made the experience even nicer.
During the two days you could not only enjoy the Rouge Cloître and some healthy food (AKA improvised pique nique!) but you could discover products and chat with local producers. This is how I tasted breads baked with ancient recipes dated from 1200 a JC classified as Cultural Heritage! It’s definitely worth trying.
The event aimed to promote a healthier lifestyle and making the right choices in your plate or in your home. We received seeds to plant veggies, tips to not waste food, how to choose the best products, and took part in ludic games. The atmosphere was nice and cosy, very friendly like in most events related to sustainable lifestyle.
There was also a nice stand about cooking with wild herbs and flowers, we learned quite a lot there! Especially with all the plants from the Rouge Cloître I can’t forget to mention the Massage stand which I loved, the organisers really thought about everything: Food, Drinks, Quiet spots, learning activities, games, cooking, and relaxation!
In short, it was a lovely week-end and I’ll attend the one from next year!
